Seattle | Washington

Douglas was a fun loving father, stepfather, grandfather, son, brother, best friend and husband. He leaves behind his loyal and loving wife Sarah who loves him more than life, 3 beautiful Daughters Theresa, Ashley, and Shelbie who he had a very close bond with each of them and spoke to them everyday, 4 granddaughters, 2 step children Sebastian and Makena who he helped raise the last 7 years on the island of Maui who he grew to love very much, 3 older brothers who he spoke about everyday and loved dearly, Dad and step mother, and Mom. He loved all of his parents so much and was very grateful for everything they did to help him after he was diagnosed with brain cancer. Douglas was a true warrior and fought hard for 18 months, he never was afraid and he always kept a positive attitude throughout his cancer battle. Douglas was not afraid to die and had had 2 previous near death experiences where he saw a glimpse of heaven and he gave us great hope with his love and faith in God. He had a profound sense of spirituality. He also had a very unique and unfiltered sence of humor that everyone loved and will remember all his “dougerisms”! He was a naturally talented drummer and all he needed was his fingers and a surface and he would throw down beats anywhere. He was a true Seattle boy his most favorite things besides drumming and rock and roll are the Seattle Seahawks and Coffee. He stopped at Starbucks twice a day for his venti iced breve lattes. He loved trucks and pointed each and everyone out as he was driving. He was so handsome and everyone looked at him when he walked into a room. He loved working out and being strong. He loved being tan and flexing his muscles. He loved talking politics and conspiracy theories. He loved long walks. He loved and called Maui Hawaii Home. The best thing about Doug was his tender and empathetic heart to anyone struggling. He will be missed beyond words, always remembered and loved beyond measure.
